I remember when Coach "Buzz" Kirkhart first came to Calvert. From the
first meeting he seemed to command respect. At that meeting he predicted
that we would have a say in the final computer poll within 3 years, saying
"You ain't braggin' if you can do it." He did all he said he would, and
more. I learned a lot about being goal oriented & teamwork, and it
still serves me well. I also remember when he told us his nickname was
"Buzz". He said "You can call me Buzz as long as it is used with respect.
His style of discipline and order was exactly what we needed at that time.
By the way, how many of you remember the infamous "Lost My Grip On The
Earth" story that Buzz was so fond of repeating?
