Tom Basinger pulled off one of the biggest upsets
in All Star history, in holding off Sammy Swindell for the feature win
at Fremont on July 6, 1990, during Ohio Speedweek.
His Sprint Car racing career lasted for 8 years, with
his last feature win coming at Attica in '94.
Tom died of cancer on July 9, 2000 at his residence
in Fostoria at the age of 45.
