H. H. Hartzell Claimed By Death

Harrison H. Hartzell, 75 years old, died Sunday afternoon at 5:30 at his home, 471 West Perry Street. The cause of death was a complication of diseases with which he had been suffering for the past two months.

Mr. Hartzell was born on a farm in Eden township, 4 miles south of this city, a son of Reuben & Elizabeth Hartzell.

On August 10, 1861, he enlisted as a private in Co. I, Eighth O. V. I. participating in the Civil War. He served three years, being transferred to Co. A, Forth Ohio Battallion, August 1, 1864. He was in fifteen battles two of these being Antietem and Gettysburg.

In April, 1871, he was married to Miss Ellen Clark, who died in 1878. To this union three children were born. Thomas and John reside in this city and Harry is deceased. In 1884 Mr. Hartzell married Miss Katie Shuff, who survives him. Israel Hartzell of Toledo is a half brother of the deceased.

He was a member of the M. P. bible school and also of William H. Gibson Post, G. A. R. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the residence, Rev. Frank L. Brown officiating. The interment will be made at Rock Run Cemetery.

8) John resided in Cleveland at that time, not Tiffin
