Chuck Kear drove a sprint car for only a brief
time. He is much better known as the founder of the very successful Kears
Speed Shop, which is still in operation today under the direction of his
widow, Shirley. Her generousity and love of the sport through the years
has kept many great drivers in action, when they could not otherwise have
been able to afford to keep their cars on the track.
