Regina M. Beat, 62, 65 E. Davis St., died at 7 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 1990, at her residence, following a sudden illness.

She was born Jan. 19, 1928, in Tiffin, to Thomas and Rosalie (Reiniche) Hartzell. On Oct. 6, 1951, in St. Mary's Church, she married Walter C. Beat, and he survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Thomas of Findlay, Michael of Wellington and Ronald of Columbus; two daughters, Mrs. James (Elaine) Smith of rural Tiffin and Mrs. Thomas (Janis) Cramer of Battle Creek, Mich.; eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a step-great-grandchild; three brothers, Victor J. Hartzell of Defiance and Robert and Eugene Hartzell, both of Tiffin; and two sisters, Mrs. Eugene (Mary) Elchert and Mrs. Paul (Ellen) Elchert, both of Tiffin. Two brothers are deseased.

Mrs. Beat, a volunteer at the Tiffin Developmental Center, was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and the St. Vincent DePaul Society.

A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, where the rosary will be said at 9:45 a.m. The Rev. Raymond Ensman will officiate with burial in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Hannay-Nemith Mortuary, where a wake service will be at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, the church or a charity of the donor's choice.
